Though sugar paste works for all hair types, I think my coarse hair girlies get the best results.

Coarse hair is usually deeply rooted, stronger hair that requires a little more effort to remove for most hair removal methods.

Sugar paste however, sees coarse hair and laughs because it’s not a challenge.

Your hair gets softer, grows back lighter and slower. So you win across the board when you make the switch to sugaring ✨

4 reasons why you might feel more sensitivity during your sugaring visit!

These are the most common reasons why we see a sensitivity increase in the treatment room.

If you’ve noticed you’re feeling more sensitive than you once did, at least one of these could be the reason why.

If you start getting ingrowns even though you’ve been sugaring for a while this could be why…

You’ve been sugaring for a few months and all of sudden, ingrown hairs start popping up.

Firstly, don’t panic. Secondly, don’t pick at them :)

This could be happening because your hairs are in a different growth cycle now. Meaning some of your hairs are shorter than others so when you’re getting sugared, they’re either not at the surface yet or they’re not extracting fully because they’re too short. (Some of your hair could be breaking and causing the ingrown hairs)

The solution to this is to start going a little further out for your visits (yay!) less hair for longer amounts of time is a win. 1-2 weeks makes a huge difference in this instance.

Just make sure you’re keeping up with your exfoliation and hydration in-between appointments so we can truly tackle the problem from all angels.

Smooth skin, less irritation and long-lasting results will be waiting for you on the other side of this solution.

If you’re impatient and want to see results fast, consistency is key 🔑

Don’t get me wrong, you’ll see a difference after one visit but if you wait until your hair is just as grown out as it was your first visit for your second, third or fourth visit then your results won’t last as long.

The same goes for facial services, facials are great and you’ll see a difference immediately after you get off the table. However, if you’re not consistent with homecare and follow up visits the results won’t last as long.

That’s why I usually recommend starting with an underarm! A small area, that’s quick (15 mins or less) that way you can…

✨Get a feel for how the sugar paste feels on your skin (it’s not hot like wax & for most people not as painful)

✨Reap the benefits of slower and thinner hair growth.
(Your hair will take at least a week and a half before it slowly starts grows back)

✨Feel a little less nervous going into your appointment for a larger surface area or a more sensitive area like the bikini area.

Exfoliating before your visit helps loosen the hair, but skip lotions and oils the day of.

Clean, breathable clothing is also key—our skin naturally sheds and sweats, and freshly sugared follicles need a little extra care.

A few small steps can help prevent irritation and ingrowns and keep your skin feeling its best.

Sugar paste removes your hair from the root, so you’re left with soft, supple skin for at least 2 weeks before your hair starts to grow back.

Usually, it takes another 2 weeks or so before it’s long enough to be sugared again.

As you continue sugaring, it takes longer for your hair to grow back, and some spots will be bare even after those 4 weeks.

The goal is to kill off your hair follicles by continuously sugaring, that way we can push your appointments out longer and longer each time.

That means you can strut out the studio confidently, knowing you won’t have to pick up a razor ever again and have softer skin, no irritation and minimal hair growth.

I love when the visit ends with “Can I hug you?”

Girl let’s be real, it can be tempting to not sugar during this time of year. The truth is, it’s the best time to be consistent.

When you give up on sugaring in the cooler months, your hair slowly reverts back to its old ways 👎🏾 growing back out of your hair growth cycle & chances are if you aren’t sugaring you’re not staying up on your aftercare either.

So excess dryness from the weather and lack of exfoliation + hydration lead you to be back at square one when the weather warms up.

Instead, let’s talk about why you should start (and continue) sugaring throughout the cold months!

The ✨hot shower✨ is a common mistake I see with my guests post visit.

It might seem like a good idea after your visit but let me tell you what it might be doing to your skin:

-causing irritation
-drying your skin out
-washing away our post-care products applied at your visit 😭

Notice I don’t say avoid showers completely, turn that temperature down to lukewarm and at least wait a few hours before you jump in the shower after your sugaring visit.

Hot steam, especially post sugar visit can dry your skin out majorlyyyy since sugar paste is exfoliating.

Remember this next time you leave your sugar visit!

@sugardulcepaste sent me samples of some of their products and they truly delivered.

The products were calming, gentle and still effective for sensitive skin.

I also am currently using their facial cleanser and serum which have been great for my skin (which is also sensitive)

How to exfoliate ✨

I’m using one of my favorite exfoliants, the Silk Scrub from @fur_you in this video.

It’s a physical & chemical exfoliant meaning there’s a little bit of texture in the scrub but there’s some chemical exfoliants like Glycolic and Lactic acid that will help remove any excess dead skin.

Safe to use on your most intimate areas and a little goes a longggg way!

Don’t forget to follow up with your Fur Oil once you get out of the shower 🤩
